Thanks for your comment. I was trying to give a little more depth to the reasons behind the protests and show that the discontent is not just concentrated in the poorest classes. As for not supporting the World Cup, I talked to many people in SP and didn’t meet anyone who was in favor of Brazil hosting the games. However, now that the Cup is starting, the mood is becoming more festive and people are excited about the games.

One note, you cannot say that “very few support the World Cup” because even on anecdotal evidence, everyone knows this is not true. Good way to follow the crowd however.
