This was very evident – an attempt, rather successful one – to make corruption an instrument of decisive influence. By mid 1990s corruption has destroyed almost all credibility of government, not only on federal, but also on regional levels. The rise of the popularity of the former KGB operatives, seem by many as ‘incorruptible’, has followed. As an investment banker working in Moscow from 1993 onwards I was able to observe it in great details. Would be great to explore the subject in greater detail one day…
