Sure, I still want to know how can ever hope for change if we consider everyone is bound to keep repeating what their parents and great parents did. Can’t anyone do different than their parents? I should be a barefoot farmer as my grand parents if it were the case.

As anyone who has worked in the Indian civil services as oneself, there is a peculiar colonial hangover in the Indian Administrative Service at its apex. These ” sahibs” rule the roost, and anyone not subscribing to their elitism and luxury beliefs is subject to tyranny. Given that Mamdani comes from this background ( his grandfather was an elite IAS officer in Orissa, India); his mother peddling Leftist pseudo- intellectual and Socialistic garbage, pandering very much to the paternalistic ideas of the Raj, his disastrous policy ideas have a whiff of these contexts of his ancestry.

Can’t we give a man a chance to do his job of mayor in a large city? As a Swiss citizen, where elitism is a bit more controlled, as the daughter of Italian immigrants I wonder if someone with a “lesser” background has more or less zero chances to get to that spotlight in these times in the US where privilege and elites keep the elitist system up. Don’t tell me Trump doesn’t come from an ultra-elite background himself. And as we se he is clearly not supporting nor defending ground level workers.
