I can’t forget Condeleeza Rice’s remarks about the “birth pangs” of a new Middle East. I can even remember General Westmorland telling us how inevitable would be our victory in Vietnam. And more recently Joe Biden forecast the ruble being quickly reduced to rubble and “that man” (Putin) having to go.
