I am not sure that I agree with you. The UK and France are up shit creek without a paddle. That does not absolve India of its sins.

Entrepreneurs like me still cannot function in India. Politicians will send income tax officials to stop publications. Bureaucrats will make my life hell. Courts will take 200 years to even hear my case.

The US, the UK, France, Germany, Japan and the more affluent countries are far from perfect. We publish critiques of their systems all the time. However, they have relatively better rule of law as of now. Of course, that might change in the days to come…

Name one complex democracy which is heterogeneous and working well. There are many things not working well; but this doom gloom article is unrealistic. Take a walk in Central London or Paris today and see if you feel ” safe”. Sorry, this is not worthy of this journal- could have been in a Trotskyist manifesto at the maximum!
