Farhad Daftary is the Director and Head of the Department of Academic Research and Publications at the Institute of Ismaili Studies. An authority in Ismaili Studies, Professor Daftary is the General Editor of Ismaili Heritage Series, Ismaili Texts and Translations Series, and Shi'i Heritage Series. He is the author and editor of some 20 books, including 鈥淭he Isma鈥檌lis鈥� (1990), 鈥淭he Assassin Legends鈥� (1994) and 鈥淎 History of Shi鈥檌 Islam鈥� (2013). He completed his graduate studies in America, receiving a PhD degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
